Christmas Parties

Every year we provide funding for Christmas parties/meals from money donated, as not everyone gets a hot Christmas lunch. For some children and their families, it could be the only hot meal they will get over Christmas and that’s a frightening thought isn’t it?

This year for the first time ever and thanks to the very general Simon Leigh, Mike Knott and Carl Ackerman’s fundrasing, there was a proper sit down Christmas lunch for 100 local children and their parents at DY1 Venue in Dudley. The guys brought along their families, paid for the food, a children’s entertainer and even goody bags to take away. Operation Santa provided a grotto with presents and Santa brought along his elves.

Lunch was cooked by Donna, Dawn and Kayleigh from Lunch on the Run [who are based at DY1 Venue and run the coffee shop there alongside their catering business], who gave up their Saturday to prepare a delicious lunch. Most of the children and quite a few of the adults had seconds, with Donna’s delicious buttery mashed potato being a firm favourite. Thanks Donna, Dawn and Kayleigh 🙂
