Meet Brett Harris our long-term supporter and Business Ambassador to Operation Santa. His business is Blaze Hair in Kingswinford and he has a real passion and commitment to our appeal. Every single year he campaigns tirelessly to generate donations of gifts and cash to support the appeal. He wants to make a huge difference to those ‘invisible’ children who are often forgotten at Christmas and have nothing to look forward too. Many of the children and young people we support would otherwise not get a gift and many can’t even expect a hot meal!
Brett has always preferred to operate under the radar and does not seek any recognition for his efforts, he simply has a heart of gold and a passion to make a difference. In 2013, in recognition of his commitment, he was awarded the inaugural ‘Business Supporting the Community Award’, the category was created especially as no one had ever nominated a business for Dudley Volunteer Awards before! His band of angels help with the campaign too and they were recognised with our prestigious ‘Business Supporting the Community Award’ at Dudley Volunteer Awards 2017. One of the charities who support people in crisis nominated him, in recognition of his amazing efforts.
Brett and his team are committed to helping all the children and families through Dudley CVS’ Operation Santa every year, which supports children, young people and families across Dudley borough, who would otherwise get nothing for Christmas.
Dudley should be proud to have such an outstanding small business, who are dedicated to bringing joy each Christmas to local children and young people who are less fortunate. They are only a young team, but their dedication is outstanding. Other businesses could learn from them and their passion to change lives.
Brett has no financial gain out of everything he and the team do, and he likes to operate under the radar. He and the team do an incredible job, but don’t expect praise for this, they just love to help and make a real difference. Brett does it with care, compassion and love to make a difference. He’s very humble.
